October...breast cancer an awareness month

While we love talking about wine, sometimes it’s important to cover important topics, like breast health. October, being breast cancer awareness month, seems like a perfect time. Get screened. No one wants to get breast cancer, but catching it early could be the difference between kicking it or it kicking you.

Wine pictured here is an Old Vin Zinfandel by Windstorm. This 2018 was bought at Grocery Outlet and was less than $10. I can’t remember the exact price off the top of my head. I needed something dark enough to “cover the goods” in the photo and hoped it would do the job. Needless to say, it did.

This OV Zin has a classic nose of dark berry and plum on the nose. You can pick up some smoke and dark chocolate, too. It has a nice long finish with solid tannins. It’s not jammy and with the acid and finish, it would go well with many foods.
